Weekend in the Country

This past weekend was Memorial Day at Gore Springs United Methodist Church. My mother's family always gets together on this weekend and goes to church together where they grew up. We also get to spend some time with each other. We were out of Grenada at the site where my grandmother and grandfather lived with their 5 girls. My mom and dad have put a trailer where the house used to be (it burned a few years ago). The kids have a ball out here because they can play in the dirt, build forts in the woods, and swing across a small creek. Here are several pictures from the weekend. We all had a good time (except for the occasional allergy attacks!)
Noelle and Jett climbing on a dirt pile. (Notice Noelle's motherly instinct)

Bobby riding Stone on the 4-wheeler.

Uncle Bob riding 2 more monkeys on the 4-wheeler. (The monkeys in this picture are Carlyn and Noelle)

This is the rope swing across the creek that everybody loved. Stone really wants to go. "My do it!!"

Kate taking her turn.

Uncle Elwood, Jett, and "Uncle Dean" walking back from the swing.

Jett playing with "Uncle Dean" on the dirt pile.

Even Aunt Carole got in on the swingin'!
Had to get the close up shot of this!

Stone's not scared!

Corbin's turn!

And DD!

The peanut gallery.

DD got Noelle!

Climbing (or sliding) down into the creek.

In the backyard, lots of things to do...digging, playing horseshoes, playing in the airstream...etc...
Jett, Corbin, and Stone....planting....watermelons?
Kate and Michael pose for the crazy cousin with the camera.

DD, Stone, Carlyn, Carole, Dean and Noelle at the swing.

It was a fun day and great to see everyone.
